If there's one album that calms me, especially at the end of the day, this one is guaranteed. Sometimes, though, it gets me real sentimental. My favorite cut, of course, is "Lullaby." Very special to me and my son. I take the CD with me in my travels.

I love the sea. And the sound of crashing waves is therapeutic to me. Pachelbel's Canon is rendered here in many ways, all of which lend justice to the magic of the composition. Of all the classical music I have learned to appreciate, Canon stirs something inside me I cannot understand... something ethereal.

"Baby, you give good love." This album is ancient. I listened to it so much then because I was in love. Nostalgic love. I still listen to Whitney to remind me of the good old days.

Of course, Michael Bolton, that forceful, emphatic singer whose song lyrics are beautiful love poems. Listen to his words and imagine your loved one singing the songs to you -- "I said I love you but I lied... cuz this is more than love I feel inside." Goose bumps!

Kenny G, the artist who enjoys getting paid for expressing himself. His music creeps into your soul and haunts you. His talent is awesome. "Forever In Love" sends me swooning! Well, I AM a sucker for sax. I'll listen to Kenny G anytime.

I've never been to Africa, but the song touches a nerve. Maybe it's the rhythm. Maybe it's the images. I don't know. I just love the album -- no matter what those critics say.

Another album that stirs my soul. I have the cassette, the CD, and the video! Oh ye, the Eagles never broke up.. they just took a 14-year vacation. And for what it's worth, "Love will keep us alive."

Piano music like no other. Jim Chappell can really conjure pictures in your head with his music. Sit back, close your eyes, and feel the morning breeze. "First Kiss" and "Wonder" just makes my heart stop beating.

Another oldie but goodie. Ingram's penetrating voice can effectively help you unwind from a hectic day. And lend a gentle touch of romance. "Whatever We Imagine" zooms me back to 1986. Don't ask me why.

This one is special. Alan Parsons has more familiar albums like "Eye In The Sky". But this one features Edgar Alan Poe's works. We're all acquainted with Poe, now listen to Alan Parsons' interpretations. It's surreal and engaging. It grows on you. Quothe the raven, "Nevermore!"

My son introduced me to this collection. Many familiar tunes like the background music for Kung Fu, Star Trek, and Millennium. Good instrumental stuff. Contemporary bordering on the classical. You can listen to it all day.

I don't buy many soundtracks but this one I have. So sue me. The music just jumps up at me. I can't say Banderas can't sing because he can. And the catchy Los Lobos guitar is omnipresent. Good set of songs from a good movie. I can relate to "Morena De Mi Corazon." :p

Watermark leaves an indelible mark, so to speak. Enya's Irish-inspired compositions are always refreshing -- transports you smack in the middle of hilly, open grasslands, where you are caressed by a gentle, cool breeze, under billions of brilliant stars.

Japanese-inspired orchestral compositions. Keiko is phenomenal. Once you listen to some of her music, you know you'll want to listen to her again. If you're already a Yanni fan, try taking in some Keiko Matsui.

I like this album not because of the "Ruby Baby" song (Ok, it's one of the reasons!). Donald Fagen's music is addictive! I.G.Y. became a big hit, but the rest of the cuts are excellent, too.

Well, Steely Dan was Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, and this is one of their many good albums (I think I have the whole collection!). Steely Dan's music takes some getting used to, then it becomes a habit. Check out Gaucho, too.

See, Donald Fagen has become a habit. This is his latest solo album -- and the tunes are pretty catchy. I always find myself singing along with "Snowbound."

Remember Tommy Lee Jones dancing to a U2 tune in "Blown Away"? This album means a lot to me. Can you imagine, I actually once tailored my workout routine to its song sequence. Gave me the right rhythm.

I have been listening to this fantastic album since it first came out in 1998. Clapton and his guitar can really set the mood. After he rubs you down with "My Father's Eyes," he slides under your skin with "River Of Tears." You can then lean back to enjoy the sunset.

Speaking of guitar, Larry Carlton's is what Jazz is all about. And his one composition that tugs at my heart every time is "Carrying You."

Did somebody say "Jazz"? Here it is - elevator music, driving music, work music, sunbathing-by-the-pool music, watching-the-grass-grow music. Smooth jazz.
